Ekenywa Specialized Hospital first opened its doors in 1994 and is now one of the largest specialized hospitals in the country. The hospital averages more than 50,000 patient visits annually. The hospital provides outpatients and inpatient services, which include general medical services, specialist clinics and diagnostic services. Ekenywa inpatient services comprised of forty (40) beds allocated in the wards catering for all age groups. The wards are of good quality, well ventilated and contain nurse calling system, telephone, refrigerator and television.

A full range of in-patient treatment is provided, with particular attention to those with serious illness, the specialist doctors are instantly and readily available whenever there is emergency call, and other medical doctors are always on call attending the patients. The hospital provides free beverages for inpatient clients.


The hospital is equipped with an elevator and standby generator to ensure maximum patient satisfaction.


Ekenywa Specialized Hospital is governed by five Boards of Directors. The Board is responsible for governing policies and also has budgetary oversight for the hospital.

The Board plays an active part in ensuring that the hospital maintains the highest possible level of quality and safety.

Our leadership team includes members of the Ekenywa Specialized Hospital, our medical leaders and senior executives. Their backgrounds are diverse, but they share a common goal – to set the standards of excellence in health care and to lead the hospital system with their wealth of knowledge and experience.
