Ekenywa Specialized Hospital first opened its doors in 1994 and now is one of the largest specialized hospitals in the country. The hospital averages more than 90,000 patient visits annually. The hospital provides outpatients and inpatient services, which include general medical services, specialist clinics, and diagnostic services.

Ekenywa Specialized Hospital is governed by five Boards of Directors. The Board is responsible for governing policies and also has budgetary oversight for the hospital.
The Board plays an active part in ensuring that the hospital maintains the highest possible level of quality and safety.
